When you have finished configuring a dashboard so that everything is displayed just how you need it to be, saving your changes means you can come back to this specific view at a later date.
Note: When making changes to a dashboard you will be presented with a warning to indicate that you have unsaved changes. If you navigate away from the dashboard without saving, your changes may be lost.
Exactly how you choose to save depends on whether you intend to:
- Overwrite the existing dashboard (in which case your changes will apply not only to you but also to any users that may already have shared access), or
- Save as a totally new dashboard (in which case the new dashboard will private to you by default – but can be shared with others later if required).
Overwrite the existing dashboard
Simply select the “Save” icon in the actions menu (as shown below).
The stored version of this dashboard will be updated such that any user accessing it will see your changes.
Save as a totally new dashboard
Select the “More” menu icon in the actions menu and then select “Save as new dashboard” (as shown below),
You will be prompted to give your new dashboard a name.
Your new dashboard will be then be available for you to view in the Dashboard Library.
