What's the best way to use the weekly TruCoaching update?
First, review your "progress zone" and "summary" to see where you stand so far against your target score, then check out your "tip of the week" for advice on what to actually do. Pick one tip to bring into your next team huddle or shift briefing rather than trying to act on everything at once.
How much can I read into a single update?
The progress zone you're placed in signifies the level of confidence that you're actually making progress. Very early in a target period, particularly for lower-traffic outlets, there's less rating data to smooth out any natural fluctuation, resulting in a less-confident signal. The progress zone becomes more reliable as more responses come in.
From week to week, it's possible that fluctuations in the data could even move you back into a "lower" progress zone. Don't worry if this happens - continue to focus on making improvements, and over time and as more data arrives, confidence increases and the progress zone may change again.
What's the best way to track whether my actions are working?
Review your progress zone over several weeks rather than reacting to any single update. One dip or spike isn't the story - the direction across the whole target period is.
Which content within my weekly update is AI-generated?
The "summary" is the only section of the weekly TruCoaching notification content that is generated via a large language model. It is written based on the target progress data available for the given outlet over the course of the target period so far and may also highlight additional insights.
The "tip of the week" sits separately and can draw on the retailer's own playbook if one has been provided.
What does the AI have access to?
Only your store's aggregated progress zone data for the specific behavior and target period in question.
It does not see any individual customer comments or individual staff performance, nor does it see any data from other touchpoints or questions.
Why does my "Tip of the week" look a certain way?
If your retailer has provided a playbook, the tips reflect that guidance. If not, they're general operational actions appropriate to the behavior in question.
Either way, they're meant to be a prompt for local judgment - not a script to follow word for word.
Are the tips personalized to my specific team?
No - they're written at the outlet and behavior level, not the individual employee level. Whether they come from your retailer's playbook or a general library, they won't reference named staff members. You'll need to apply local judgment about who on your team a given tip may apply to.
Can I use the weekly updates for formal staff performance reviews or HR documentation?
No. TruCoaching data is aggregated at the store level and contains no individual employee identifiers, so it isn't designed or suitable as evidence in an individual's performance record.
Can I use TruCoaching to flag something urgent, like a same-day incident?
Not as a real-time alert. The weekly summary itself lands on a fixed cadence tied to your target period, not the moment something happens. That said, the underlying data can show how specific shifts or days performed relative to others, so it's still useful for pinpointing where in the week a problem showed up.
Can I set or change my own targets?
Store managers are not able to change their own targets. Targets are configured by users with the appropriate permissions via TruHub, and are pushed store managers for the relevant outlet.
